About the Author: Jeanette Wachtman

Jeanette Wachtman is a talented visual artist, a dedicated art educator, and a children's author. She has received numerous awards in juried exhibitions. Her watercolor paintings, jewelry, pottery, mixed media artwork, and photography have been exhibited in art galleries, one-woman shows, and national venues. She is particularly well known for her captivating paintings of Native American portraits.

She is a retired elementary school art educator and a passionate visual artist. Her love of travel greatly influenced her teaching career and artistic expression. Throughout her journey, she has received several prestigious awards, including the Southeastern Elementary Art Educator Award in 1999 from the National Art Education Association and the Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Award in 2016 from the College of Arts, at Kennesaw State University, Ga. In addition to her teaching, she is also an aspiring children's author.

Ms. Wachtman, a dedicated art educator, wrote many interactive storybooks using rhyming verses for students in her art classes during her teaching career. She is also a children's author and authored 'Art for the Elementary Educator: A Teacher’s Workbook for Writing Integrated Lessons,' published by Kendall-Hunt Publishing Company in 2016. This textbook was specifically created for a Kennesaw State University Art Education course, showcasing her expertise as a Art Educator.
